Juan Carlos Echeverry is one of Latin America’s most distinguished economists and policymakers. He currently serves as Co-President of the Mexican private equity fund AINDA and is a Member of the Board of Directors of Credicorp Capital in Lima, Peru.
Previously, Juan Carlos was the Executive Director of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) in Washington DC. He also held the position of Colombia’s Finance Minister from 2010 to 2012, where he was honored as Latin America Finance Minister of the Year by several publications. His earlier roles include Minister of Economic Planning from 2000 to 2002.
Juan Carlos was the CEO of Ecopetrol, Colombia’s largest corporation, and served as Dean of Economics at Universidad de Los Andes. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University.
A noted speaker on Latin American issues, Juan Carlos has been invited to share his insights at prominent events, including HSBC in Davos (2010), The Economist in London (2011), J.P. Morgan in Key Largo (2012), and The Financial Times in New York (2013).
